Our Westwood Board has been celebrating many successes. We are proud to offer such a variety of community activities. Feel free to join any of them and bring friends who may benefit and become interested in Westwood Unitarian!
Ongoing programs – please note that many programs take a break over the summer and will resume in September – check the calendar!
Tuesdays: Harmonia choir at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesdays: Mindfulness Meditation at 8 p.m. (except the last Wednesday of the month)
Wednesday: Free Thinkers’ Book Club at 7 p.m. (online the last Wednesday of the month)
Fridays: Games Night on the fourth Friday of the month at 7 p.m. NEW
Saturdays: Building Connections Dinners several times a year
Sundays: Sunday services at 10:30 a.m., Second Sunday Potlucks at noon. Summer Seredipity in July and August
Special events (Save the Date!)
- Earth-Centred Gatherings, various dates.
- Casino, July 3 and 4, 2024. Lots of volunteers will be needed in a variety of roles on day or night shifts. Please check the Sign Up for available positions!
- Westwood Picnic – Sunday, August 25th
Will take place at the bright and colorful
Riverdale House at 9928 – 92 St.
Westwood’s designated delegates for the CUC (Canadian Unitarian
Council) AGM, Susan and Dean, brought the Board up to speed on
the Resolutions that were presented. The Board instructed
Susan and Dean to vote in favour of them when they attended that meeting.
Westwood’s own AGM took place on May 26th; Twenty-one attendees celebrated Westwood’s many activities this year, and possibilities for next year; expressed gratitude to all those who make Westwood ‘Westwood’; discussed finances and budget; and brainstormed possible other projects that could be considered in the 2024-25 year.

The June Lundgren room in the basement will be revitalized with a
fresh coat of light grey paint.
The Board Jumpstart will take place on Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1st.
The Westwood Board has voted to purchase an automatic external
defibrillator (AED). This portable life saving device can restart a
heart in cardiac arrest.
It is time for Westwood to undergo a Building inspection. Inspections
will help us to identify and record hazards for corrective action.
