Highlights of the February 19th meeting…
March will be an active month!
o Westwood of Your Imagination – make sure to come to Westwood on Saturday, March 1, starting at 10 am. Contribute your ideas of how you see the future of your congregation and how it can flourish. Pizza will be ordered, so stay for lunch too! MORE INFO
o Answering the Call of Love is this year’s Stewardship theme, kicking off at the March 2nd service
o There is still room in the choral weekend workshop, Gratitude & Inspiration, running March 7-9, led by Paula Roberts. Registration info HERE
o Beyond Land Acknowledgements “Learning to Share the Land” – Westwood’s Soup & Bannock speaker’s series continues on Sunday, March 16. Doors open at 5:30. Tickets are available at Eventbrite HERE
· The Lay Chaplaincy Committee had its first meeting since Jacqueline was installed as Lay Chaplain earlier in February (Congratulations, Jacqueline!) There is room for another Westwood member on the committee – please email laychaplain@westwoodunitarian.ca if you are interested in knowing more.
· The Financial Think Tank also met this month – they are looking forward to seeing what ideas/directions that Westwoodians come up with at the Westwood of Your Imagination session and how Westwoodians want to see funds used. Also, some reserve funds that have not been earning interest have been moved into short-term investments.
· Are you interested in being a delegate to the Canadian Unitarian Council (CUC) Annual General Meeting on May 31 (via Zoom). There will be online hosted conversations in March and April to orient delegates to the Gradients of Agreement decision-making tool that will be used during the meeting. LINK
· A new multiplatform tech has been found to take over from Hannah – the search went much faster than anticipated! We are delighted to welcome Julie P, who will start in the fall.
