Reflections on a Journey of Climate Activism – Sunday Service
A compassionate community of free religious thought, inviting all people to rest, grow, and serve the world.

Carmen will touch briefly on the beginnings of her journey, how her understanding deepens, and taking one step forward then two steps back. She will also introduce a new activist group in the city: Edmonton Seniors for Climate Action, and promote their event on October 1st. She will end with a reflection activity that folks can take home to finish.
After early careers in community development and global justice education, Carmen obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Athabasca University with a focus on Anthropology and Women’s Studies in 1997. Her commitment to climate activism began in earnest in the early 1990’s.
Westwood runs weekly services, September through June, bringing a variety of speakers on a wide range of topics. Please check back for updates on this Sunday’s service.
There is an opportunity for ‘social time’ in person (with coffee) or online following the service – a time to connect with friends old and new.
