Mirror, Mirror on our screen
Please explain just what you mean.
The British TV series Black Mirror, available on Netflix, presents us a familiar world that is slightly beyond/ahead of our current technologies. Each episode confronts us with moral questions, but the point is typically not fear of that technology, but, as the title indicates, to look into a mirror and see ourselves and our society from a new perspective. I will be reflecting on how the show causes us to examine ourselves, particularly how the show reveals that very small decisions can have enormous impact.
Westwood runs weekly services, September through June, bringing a variety of speakers on a wide range of topics. Please check back for updates on this Sunday’s service.
There is an opportunity for ‘social time’ in person (with coffee) or online following the service – a time to connect with friends old and new.
