Art and Spirit

Experiencing the Divine is the experience of the whole self, a celebration of the sacred relationship between our minds and bodies. Art-making is one of those activities that unites the two in a divine dance. Artists use their practice to understand themselves and the world around them. Through quotations, stories, and process art-making, Dawn will bring into focus, the power of creative energy in spiritual practice.

With speaker: Dawn Hunter

Visual art practice has been a passion for as long as Dawn can remember. Since receiving her Master’s in figurative sculpture in 1995, she has been working to facilitate creative expression in others through teaching university art courses and art classes in galleries, and as an artist in residence for Edmonton Public schools. She has also participated in many Art Therapy workshops. Her current project is a drop-in art studio for adults here at Westwood. Dawn has enjoyed the results of contributing to the creative lives and well-being of a varied demographic of creative souls. Dawn has always been fascinated with the power of the Fine Arts to heal and transform on a deeply spiritual level. This will be her focus in this service on Art & Spirit.
